For anyone who thinks that the dominatrix, Mistress or female punishment figure is a new thing, think again. Krampus is a figure from European folklore that dates back to 250 AD. He punished bad children during the Christmas season. Isn’t that nice. It is described as a horned, half goat, half demon creature that was an accompaniment to St. Nicholas.
In Germany, there was a female version of Krampus that caught and punished bad men. Isn’t she beautiful!? Here is a link to some lovely vintage cards of her. Note the look of innocence and happiness.
