Northwest Consent Summit

Hello everyone!

The National Coalition of Sexual Freedom is hosting the Northwest Consent Summit this weekend, Saturday 6th and 7th from 9am to 4pm at Norse Hall, in Portland, Oregon. I will be there. You should be there.

The National Coalition of Sexual Freedom (NCSF) was established in 1997 by a small group of volunteers led by Susan Wright. The goal is to fight for freedom and privacy rights for adults who engage in safe and consensual behavior. All volunteer run, the NCFS has two major focuses of their activism work: The judicial and mental health arenas.

See a long list of their accomplishments here, which includes achieving success in it’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (5) revision project, to depathologize BDSM in the eyes of the American Psychiatric Association.

The NCSF has done a tremendous amount of work to ensure that the rights of those who practice BDSM, polyamory and swinging are upheld. Find out how you can help below.

“In the past decade, alternative sexual expression has become much more visible to the general public. As we continue to move into the streets of mainstream America, we face an increasing number of attacks against our right to freedom of sexual expression. While the battles that NCSF has waged have been successful, our resources are depleted. will continue to defend against these attacks, but the success of that fight depends on your support. You can provide that support by becoming an individual member of NCSF, volunteering to join the NCSF staff, making a donation to NCSF, or encouraging your group to become a Coalition Partner of NCSF.”

  1. Thank you so much Mistress Katherine for informing me about the Northwest Consent Summit. Today was engaging and informative. Also, it was rewarding to be around intelligent, creative people who are part of a community I’m just beginning to explore. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
