The clinical objectification of sex is one of my favorite turn-ons. I can watch porn all day long and my vagina will never respond in the way that it does when I read an article like this. I want my own PET and MRI scanners.
Here’s the quick and dirty but I recommend reading the full article:
This article, from Scientific American Mind reports findings from a recent-ish study in which researchers observed the brain activity of 11 men and 12 women under a PET scanner while being sexually stimulated by their partners(very hot, and just for our purposes we are going to suppose that they are tightly bound to the scanners). They found that reaching sexual climax involves a heightened arousal state, a loss of inhibitions and sense of control(not news, but it’s nice so see it).
According to this research, in males there is a decline in activity in the amygdala, decreasing vigilance and an extreme increase of activity in the ventral tegmental area, which is a major area for reward in the brain. Scientists compare this experience to a heroin dose.
In Females, they found surprisingly, that a lot of the brain shuts down completely, especially the left lateral orbitofrontal cortex, which is involved with self-control. Another area that darkened quite a bit is the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex, an area that influences moral reasoning, and social judgment. Activity also falls in the hypothalamus, but it seems that activity rises in the limbic system, and both rises and falls in the amygdale.
One researcher stated that “At the moment of orgasm, women do not have any emotional feelings”.
Me-Honestly I would be surprised to hear if any man does have emotional feelings at the moment of climax. This is certainly true in my case, and as a matter of fact I often feel as though I’m leaving my body all together.
Enjoy. 🙂
You might be surprised to believe a man feels emotion at the moment of climax. But it does happen. Climaxing with a woman I loved was a melding of emotional, physical and spiritual. It was multi dimensional, poetic, powerful, sweet and tender. You can’t wrap words around it but it was emotional. And you both know, something just happened.
